Performance ASSESSMENT
The Performance Assessment objectively measures athletes movement patterns, power output, and speed using state of the art technology and best practice approaches to athlete development. Additionally, data will be compared to normative data from athletes across the country in their respective sport. The information gathered during our assessment process will be used to map out the athletes development plan based on their individual goals. This assessment will include THREE different parts of performance testing, which are strength, medical, throwing OR hitting.
STRENGTH
• Customized Dynamic Movement Assessment
• VALD Force Deck Testing - Countermovement Jump, Squat Jump, Hop Test
• VALD Laser Testing - 10-Yard Dash
• Normative Data Comparison
MEDICAL
• Orthopedic Exam
• OnBaseU/SFMA Assessment
• VALD Dynamo+ 20-Point Data Collection
THROWING
• Discuss injury history, specific goals, and assessment results.
• Track all data in a player profile that we update throughout the program.
• Video insight of constrained and unconstrained throwing drills.
• We will breakdown throwing mechanics and how assessment drills affect the pitching delivery.
HITTING
• Track all data in a player profile
• Video insight of constrained and unconstrained hitting drills.
• We will breakdown hitting mechanics and how assessment drills affect the swing pattern
Motion capture assessment
Our facility is home to Qualisys, a leading provider of 3D Motion Capture Systems with more than 30 years of high end camera systems. Using 8, high speed markerless cameras calibrated above our first-in-class clay mound area, a biomechanical model will be constructed using Visual 3D Software. The data will then be imported to a player’s individual web report where Key Performance Indicators of the throwing sequence will be reviewed with your throwing coach and compared to normative data in collaboration with the Wake Forest Pitching Lab.
