Push Performance was founded with one goal: to revolutionize baseball training. Starting as a small high-performance facility in Colorado, we quickly gained recognition for delivering results through evidence-based, customized programs.

​

As demand grew, we expanded to Arizona—placing ourselves in a premier baseball market—while staying true to our mission: to offer elite training built on integrity, innovation, and individual attention.

​

Today, Push Performance is a trusted destination for baseball players at every level, from rising high school talent to MLB professionals. With personalized programming and a relentless focus on development, we continue to raise the bar for what athletes can achieve.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

At Push Performance, we specialize in delivering premier baseball training for athletes of all ages—from youth players to college prospects and professional athletes. Based in Tempe, Arizona, our facility is built around one mission: to help players move better, train smarter, and perform at the highest level.

 

Our approach is rooted in data, biomechanics, and sport science. Every athlete we train receives a fully individualized program that integrates strength and conditioning, mobility and recovery, and baseball-specific skill development. Whether you’re working with us in person or through our comprehensive remote training platform, our team is committed to your long-term growth, performance, and durability.

 

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training. We believe in purpose-driven development, and we exist to push athletes beyond their potential—safely, intelligently, and relentlessly.

DJ EDWARDS

Owner & Director, Push Performance

With a deep foundation in strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, biomechanics, and mobility training, DJ has built a reputation for designing highly individualized programs that address the specific needs of each athlete. His approach blends science-based methodologies with practical application to maximize performance while reducing injury risk.

​

As the creator of the acclaimed Elite Baseball Program, DJ has worked with a wide spectrum of athletes—from rising high school prospects to MLB veterans. His track record includes over 50 players selected in the MLB Draft, highlighted by 7 first-round picks, multiple All-Stars, a Silver Slugger recipient, and a Gold Glove winner.

​

Under DJ's leadership, Push Performance has become a trusted training partner for all 30 Major League Baseball organizations and currently serves over 100 professional baseball athletes. His passion for development and commitment to excellence continue to push the standard of what’s possible in athlete performance.

ASHLEY EDWARDS

Co-Owner, Push Performance | Certified Nutrition Coach

Ashley Edwards is the Co-Owner of Push Performance and plays a vital role in shaping the health, recovery, and performance strategies for the athletes the facility serves. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Integrated Physiology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

​

With a strong foundation in both science and healthcare, Ashley developed a deep passion for nutrition while working in the medical field and alongside athletes at Push Performance. Recognizing the critical role that nutrition and recovery play in athletic success, she pursued certification as a Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition.

​

Ashley specializes in helping athletes optimize their fueling and recovery strategies to perform at their highest level. Her evidence-based, personalized approach has empowered countless athletes to improve their eating habits, enhance recovery, and gain a competitive edge both on and off the field.

CODY VOELKER

Operations Coordinator, Push Performance

As the Operations Coordinator of Push Performance, Cody plays a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations, driving strategic planning, and ensuring a seamless experience for both staff and athletes. He works cross-functionally with all departments to implement efficient systems, manage resources, and support the continued growth and success of the organization.

​

Cody brings a strong background in operations, marketing, and team management. Prior to joining Push Performance, he led brand development and customer acquisition strategies for a custom home builder and managed sales and service operations for a commercial cleaning company.

​

A former collegiate baseball player at Illinois State University, Cody earned his B.A. in Organizational and Leadership Communication. Off the field, you’ll often find him fueling his competitive spirit on the golf course.

MIKE JEWELL

Front Office Coordinator, Push Performance

Mike Jewell is the Front Office Coordinator at PUSH Performance, where he creates a professional, welcoming environment for athletes, families, and staff. 

​

New to the baseball training industry, Mike has quickly gained valuable knowledge and applies it as both a key team member at PUSH and a dedicated youth baseball coach. Previously with 1st Phorm, a leading supplement company, Mike deepened his passion for strength training while learning the fundamentals of building strong company culture, leadership, and business growth. His experience there continues to influence his work ethic and approach to team dynamics.

​

Known for his calm demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine love for sports and development, Mike plays a vital role in ensuring the front office runs smoothly and reflects the high standards of the PUSH Performance brand.

TAYLOR DAVIS

Performance Coordinator, Push Performance

Originally from Federal Way, Washington, Taylor Davis brings a strong athletic and academic background to his role as Strength Coordinator at Push Performance. He played collegiate baseball at Lower Columbia College before transferring to Gonzaga University, where he earned a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education.

​

Taylor began his career with Push Performance as an intern and went on to gain additional experience as a strength intern at both Gonzaga and Texas Christian University (TCU). His dedication and expertise led him back to Push Performance in a full-time coaching role, where he now works with a wide range of athletes locally and across the country.

​

Taylor is committed to helping athletes maximize performance through individualized, science-based training programs tailored to their goals.

ANDREW AMATO

Throwing Coordinator, Push Performance

Andrew Amato serves as the Throwing Coordinatorat Push Performance, bringing a modern, biomechanics-driven approach to pitching development. A former collegiate pitcher at Point Loma Nazarene University, Andrew trained under one of the nation's most forward-thinking coaching staffs, immersed in a program known for its cutting-edge work in baseball biomechanics.

​

During his playing career, Andrew developed a deep understanding of the throwing motion and performance optimization. He now applies that knowledge to create individualized, movement-based solutions that enhance velocity, durability, and efficiency for pitchers at every level.

​

Andrew is passionate about blending data, mechanics, and creativity to help athletes unlock their full potential on the mound.

MEG LACHAPELLE

Sports Performance Coach, Push Performance

Originally from Massachusetts, Meg joined Push Performance with a strong background in exercise science and a passion for athlete development. She graduated from Westfield State University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Movement Science, concentrating in Exercise Science.

​

Following graduation, Meg completed a highly regarded internship at Cressey Sports Performance in Hudson, MA, where she gained hands-on experience working with baseball athletes from youth through the professional ranks. She went on to work as a Sports Performance Coach and Personal Trainer before relocating to Arizona to continue her coaching career at Push Performance.

​

Meg is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, an NSPA-Certified Sports Performance Coach, and a certified Speed and Agility Coach. She is committed to helping athletes improve movement quality, build strength, and elevate performance through individualized, results-driven programming.

ERIC EVERETT

Sports Performance Coach, Push Performance

Originally from South Jersey, Eric Everett is a Strength Coach at Push Performance with a diverse background in athlete development. He earned his undergraduate degree in Sports Management from Robert Morris University and later completed his master’s in Physical Education with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning at Bridgewater State University.

​

Eric has held strength internships at both Cressey Sports Performance and with the Cleveland Guardians, gaining hands-on experience with athletes across all levels. Throughout his career, he has worked with a wide range of sports and age groups, from youth athletes to professionals, with a focus on building strength, resilience, and performance.

JAMAL WADE

Sports Performance Coach, Push Performance

Jamal Wade brings years of high-level playing and coaching experience to his role as a Strength and Pitching Coach at Push Performance. A former Division I athlete, Jamal played alongside his brother, LaMonte Wade Jr. (San Francisco Giants), at the University of Maryland, competing in multiple Big Ten and NCAA tournaments, including a Super Regional and a Big Ten Championship appearance.

​

He was selected in the 17th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners and spent five seasons as a professional pitcher. After retiring from pro ball, Jamal continued to impact the game through private coaching and youth development with the Evoshield Canes.

​

Now at Push Performance, Jamal combines his on-field experience with advanced training methods and technology to help athletes reach their full potential.

SAM COE

Throwing Coach, Push Performance

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Sam is a Pitching Coach at Push Performance with a growing expertise in biomechanics and pitch design. He began his collegiate playing career at Kishwaukee College in Illinois and finished at Benedictine University Mesa.

​

Sam started at Push Performance as an intern, gaining experience in both strength and throwing development. Under the mentorship of Director of Pitching Andrew Amato, he developed a passion for the science behind throwing mechanics and pitch design. His commitment and growth led to a full-time role on the coaching staff.

​

Sam now works with athletes of all levels—from youth to professionals—focusing on optimizing mechanics and refining pitch arsenals to maximize performance on the mound.

CHARLIE PICKLES

Senior Pawject Manager, Push Performance

Master of chaos and cuddles, Charlie Pickles keeps the team on track—whether they like it or not. Known for expertly supervising meetings from under the conference table, he ensures all tasks are completed on time (especially walk breaks and snack distribution). With a sharp eye for squirrels and an even sharper nose for lunch leftovers, Charlie Pickles brings equal parts discipline and distraction to the office. When not herding humans, you’ll find him deep in strategic nap mode or offering unsolicited motivational comfort.
